Product Description

1695 Fusil de Grenadier

In the spring of 1695, the French government let contracts for the production of several hundred muskets designed for use by grenadiers (soldiers tasked with throwing grenades at the enemy). These muskets were nearly identical to the standard Fusil Ordinaire except that they had a single barrel band and sling swivels designed to free the soldier’s hands for throwing. These new muskets were sent to Canada along with the Compagnies Franches de la Marine.

Our reproduction Fusil de Grenadier is true to the original in beauty and form. As per original, it features a bridleless lock and graceful stock shape. As with all of our muskets, it comes with a lifetime frizzen hardening guarantee.
